Email marketing tips

In this article, I share some tips on email marketing.

  1. - Personalise and tailor your speech to your audience. Do things well, attractively and with personality. Receiving an unpersonalised email always suggests that it may be an automatically sent email.
  • - What the viewer sees first is the subject line (and preview lines, depending on the configuration), so sell the opening. But remember: the body will sell the click and the landing page will sell the product. On the other hand, use interesting subject lines that make the target want to read on.

  • - As with social media, engagement is key. Ask questions to get answers. This way, you'll also be getting feedback and ideas from your audience.

  • - The wording and tone are 10 times more important than the design of the email.

  • - Don't launch the campaign without testing the emails first.
  • Analysis. Another key point. Data is gold. Track and analyse it. You will get answers to your questions and things you would never have realised.

  • - When designing, make sure the design is optimised for different types of devices. I use 50/50 mobile and desktop. If the email doesn't open correctly on the device I choose, it affects whether I go ahead with the email or not.

  • - Added value. Don't just send promotions. Promotions are tiring.

  • - The more you segment, the better. Each campaign can target a different type of audience, with a different interest.

  • - Use the most valuable competition as a source of inspiration for your actions.
